The shaped footboard mirrors the refined craftsmanship of the headboard, with a broad central parquetry panel displaying striking geometric figuring. The corners are adorned with scrolling gilt bronze foliate mounts, while the lower frieze is centred by an additional gilt bronze cartouche.
