A well-crafted mahogany pedestal / plant stand, in the Georgian revival taste, the circular top with a moulded and beaded edge, raised on a turned and fluted column. The shaft is enriched with carved foliate decoration to the midsection, above a baluster-form support with further reeded detail.
The whole stands on a graceful tripod base with cabriole legs, each terminating in pad feet and accented with carved leaf motifs to the knees. The timber displays a rich, warm tone with a good surface patina, enhancing the crispness of the carving and the quality of the turning throughout.
Elegantly proportioned, this piece is both decorative and functional, ideal as a pedestal, lamp table, or plant stand.
