Each chair is crafted from solid oak, displaying a warm, medium-toned finish that highlights the natural grain and depth of the timber while lending a mellow, time-earned character to the ensemble.
The chair backs are defined by twin carved horizontal rails, each formed as a shaped and scalloped arch. These rails are profusely ornamented with scrolling foliate motifs, carefully hand-carved to create a sense of movement and symmetry. Suspended beneath each arch are turned pendant drops, adding a subtle three-dimensional accent and reinforcing the period aesthetic. The uprights are substantial and slightly tapering, terminating in gently rounded finials that frame the decorative back panels with architectural presence.
The armchairs feature shaped oak arms with a smooth, tactile finish, supported by robust turned balusters that echo the detailing found throughout the suite. The front legs across all eight chairs are boldly turned and block-and-baluster formed, united by stretchers to the sides and rear for structural integrity. A prominent turned front stretcher, rhythmically carved, provides both reinforcement and visual continuity, underscoring the craftsmanship inherent in each piece.
Seats are generously proportioned and upholstered in a deep blue velvet, secured with evenly spaced brass studwork along the lower edge.
